Overview
Entering an intersection after the traffic signal has displayed a steady red light. NYC also operates automated red light cameras at many intersections — camera violations are civil (no points), but officer-issued summons are criminal VTL violations with points.

How to Contest
- If camera violation: pay or contest at NYC Department of Finance / OATH
- If officer issued: appear at TVB, plead Not Guilty
- Request officer's memo book and any intersection camera footage
- Challenge the timing of when the light changed
