Overview
Urinating or defecating in a public space that is not a restroom. Can be charged as a Disorderly Conduct (PL § 240.20) or an Admin Code civil violation. Commonly issued by NYPD for visible, public acts. Not a criminal offense if charged under the Admin Code.

How to Contest
- Determine if summons is civil (OATH) or criminal (Criminal Court) — different courts
- For civil: contest at OATH online or in person
- For criminal: appear on return date, request ACD if first offense
